Ingredients

For the Latte
  • 2 tablespoons matcha powder Use high-quality matcha for best flavor.
  • 1 cup milk (or a dairy-free alternative) Can substitute with almond, oat, or coconut milk for vegan option.
  • ½ cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1-2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup Adjust to taste.
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • a pinch salt Optional for enhanced flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. Begin by blending the blueberries until smooth. Pulse for a chunkier texture if preferred.
  2. In a small saucepan, gently heat your milk over low-medium heat until warm but not boiling.
  3. In a small bowl, combine matcha powder with a few tablespoons of hot water. Use a frother or whisk to mix until smooth.
Assembly
  1. Layer the blueberry puree at the bottom of your serving glass or mug.
  2. Pour the frothed matcha over the blueberry layer, followed by the warm milk.
  3. Add honey or maple syrup to taste, and stir gently to combine.
  4. Optionally, top with fresh blueberries or a dusting of matcha powder before serving.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh; however, it can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Re-froth the matcha before serving if made in advance. Consider trying variations by adding spices like cinnamon or cardamom.
