  • 1-3 pieces Babybel cheese (classic red wax rounds) Use small original Babybel rounds for the best experience.
  • 1-2 cups Panko breadcrumbs Adjust depending on batch size; panko gives the best crunch.
  • as needed Cooking spray or light oil (olive, avocado, or neutral oil) For coating the cheese and air fryer basket.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Season to your preference.
  • Optional herbs or spices Consider garlic powder, smoked paprika, Italian seasoning, cayenne, or fresh parsley.

Preparation
  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Remove the wax from each Babybel cheese.
  3. Dip each cheese in a light coating of oil or cooking spray, then roll in panko breadcrumbs for an even coating.
  4. Season the breadcrumbs with salt, pepper, or your choice of herbs or spices, if desired.
  5. Place the coated cheeses in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
Cooking
  1. Cook in the air fryer for about 5–7 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  2. Serve immediately while warm and gooey.

Notes

Chilling the coated rounds for 10–15 minutes before frying helps the crust set. Leftovers can be reheated in the air fryer for the best texture.
