  • ½ cup peanut butter or almond butter Sun butter can also be used as an alternative.
  • ¼ cup honey or maple syrup Maple syrup or agave syrup can also be used.
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ cup mini chocolate chips (optional) For extra sweetness and flavor.
  • ¼ cup chopped nuts or seeds (optional) For added texture.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
  2. Add the rolled oats, peanut butter, honey (or maple syrup), and cinnamon. Mix until everything is well combined.
  3. If desired, fold in the mini chocolate chips and chopped nuts or seeds for extra texture.
  4. Using your hands, roll the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
  5. Place the energy balls on a baking sheet or plate and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes to help them firm up.
  6. Enjoy right away or store them for later!

Notes

Avoid over-mixing to keep the texture nice and chewy. These energy balls pair wonderfully with a glass of milk, a cup of yogurt, or even a smoothie.
