Ingredients

Flatbread Base
  • 4 pieces Flatbreads (naan, pita, or thin flatbreads)
Main Ingredients
  • 2 cups Cooked chicken, shredded Can use rotisserie chicken, roasted, or poached.
  • 1/3-1/2 cup Barbecue sauce Use your favorite brand or homemade.
  • 1 cup Shredded cheese Cheddar or mozzarella, or a blend.
  • 1 small Red onion, thinly sliced
  • ¼ cup Cilantro, chopped Optional, for garnish.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven during preheating.
  2. Place the flatbreads on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. In a bowl, mix the shredded chicken with barbecue sauce until well coated.
  4. Spread the barbecue chicken mixture evenly over the flatbreads, leaving a small border around the edges.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded cheese on top, followed by sliced red onions.
Cooking
  1. Bake in the oven for about 10–12 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Watch for golden edges.
  2. If you want browned, bubbly pockets on top, switch to broil for the last 1–2 minutes.
  3. Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped cilantro, if desired.
  4. Slice and serve warm.

Notes

For crisper edges, use a pizza stone or perforated baking sheet. You can assemble flatbreads ahead of time and bake later.
