Ingredients
  

Beef and Marinade
  • 1 lb beef sirloin, sliced thinly Use flank steak as a substitute if desired.
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch Acts as a velveting agent for the beef.
Vegetables and Seasonings
  • 2 cups mixed vegetables (bell peppers, broccoli, carrots, snap peas) Use seasonal and fresh vegetables.
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce Low-sodium soy sauce can be used.
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce Provides umami flavor.
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil For cooking.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Adds aroma.
  • 1 tsp ginger, minced Adds flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix the sliced beef with cornstarch and let it marinate for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add the beef and stir-fry until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add the remaining oil, garlic, and ginger; stir-fry for 30 seconds.
  4. Add the mixed vegetables and stir-fry for about 5 minutes until tender-crisp.
Cooking
  1. Return the beef to the pan and add soy sauce and oyster sauce. Stir well and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  2. Serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days. Thaw frozen stir-fry before reheating; reheat on stovetop for best texture.
