Ingredients
  

For the Bruschetta
  • 1 loaf Baguette or Italian bread Use any crusty bread of choice.
  • 4 medium Tomatoes (ripe and juicy) Diced for the topping.
  • ¼ cup Fresh basil Chopped.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced for the tomato mixture.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil Plus more for brushing.
  • 1 tablespoon Balsamic vinegar Adds a tangy flavor.
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Slice the baguette or Italian bread into half-inch slices.
Toasting the Bread
  1. Arrange the bread slices on a baking sheet and lightly brush one side with olive oil.
  2. Bake in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
Making the Tomato Mixture
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine diced tomatoes, minced garlic, chopped basil, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt, and pepper.
Assembly
  1. Remove the toasted bread from the oven and top with the tomato mixture.
  2. Serve immediately for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

For an extra kick, rub a whole clove of garlic on the toasted bread after it comes out of the oven. Leftover toppings can be refrigerated for up to two days, while the bread is best eaten within one day.
