  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese You can substitute with a cheddar blend or Monterey Jack for milder taste.
For the pretzel dough
  • 1 can refrigerated pizza dough Refrigerated pizza dough makes these quick and approachable.
For the baking soda dip
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons baking soda This step simulates the traditional lye bath used for pretzels.
For egg wash and seasoning
  • 1 large egg (beaten) The egg wash helps achieve a shiny finish.
  • to taste Kosher salt Sprinkle on top for classic pretzel flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, then drain the fat.
  3. Mix in shredded cheddar cheese until melted and combined.
  4. Roll out the pizza dough and cut it into squares.
  5. Place a spoonful of the beef and cheese mixture in the center of each dough square.
  6. Fold the dough over the filling to form a ball.
  7. In a separate bowl, mix water and baking soda, then dip each pretzel bomb into this solution.
  8. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, brush with beaten egg, and sprinkle with kosher salt.
Baking
  1. Bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden brown.
  2. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days. Reheat in a 350°F oven or air fryer to restore crispiness.
