Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Place the loaf of bread on a cutting board and slice it lengthwise into two halves.
- Lay the halves cut side up on a baking tray to absorb the garlic butter.
Making the Garlic Butter
- In a medium bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper.
- Mix until smooth and evenly combined.
Assembling
- Spread the garlic butter evenly across the bread halves, ensuring it reaches the edges.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese first, then add cheddar cheese, and finish with grated parmesan.
- If desired, sprinkle with dried oregano or red pepper flakes.
Baking
- Place the tray in the oven and bake for about 10 to 12 minutes until the cheese melts and the edges of the bread begin to turn golden.
Finishing
- Broil for about 1 to 2 minutes, watching closely until the cheese bubbles and turns lightly golden.
- Remove the tray from the oven and let the bread cool slightly before slicing.
- Cut into pieces and serve warm.
Notes
For best results, use fresh bread and do not melt the butter. You can also customize the garlic bread with various cheeses and herbs.
