  • 2 large eggs Add eggs one at a time for even incorporation.
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour Spoon and level to avoid dense cookies.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips Use a mix of semisweet and dark for better flavor.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually blend into the creamed mixture.
  5. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  6. Drop by large spoonfuls onto ungreased pans.
Baking
  1. Bake for 10–12 minutes or until edges are golden.
  2. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For variations, consider browned butter for depth, sprinkling sea salt after baking, or adding nuts for texture. Ensure baked cookies are stored in an airtight container for up to 4–5 days.
