Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your muffin tin with paper liners.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- In another bowl, beat together the softened butter, buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and chopped nuts for the topping.
Baking
- Fill each muffin cup halfway with batter, sprinkle some brown sugar mixture on top, then pour more batter to fill the cups.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Finishing Touches
- While the muffins cool, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk for the glaze.
- Once cool, drizzle the glaze over the muffins and enjoy.
