Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 pieces ripe bananas Choose ones with golden spots for sweetness but not fully black; avoid unripe green bananas.
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon Fresh-ground if possible for brighter flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar Can substitute with coconut sugar, erythritol, or monk fruit sweetener; adjust to taste.
  • 1 spray cooking spray Neutral oil spray like avocado or sunflower oil, or a light brush of melted coconut oil.

Method

Preparation
  1. Peel the 2 ripe bananas and slice them thinly across the width into even rounds, about 1.5 to 2 mm thick.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon and 1 tablespoon sugar (or your chosen alternative).
  3. Spray the air fryer basket lightly with cooking spray or brush a thin layer of neutral oil.
  4. Arrange the slices in a single layer on a plate or shallow tray, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mix evenly over them.
Cooking
  1. Place the banana slices in a single layer in the prepared air fryer basket, avoiding overlap.
  2. Set the air fryer to 135°F (57°C) and cook for 1 to 2 hours, checking frequently until crispy.
  3. Remove the chips from the air fryer and transfer them to a cooling rack. Let them cool completely before tasting.

Notes

Full cooling is crucial for crispiness. For storage, place cooled chips in an airtight container with a small packet of rice or a paper towel to absorb moisture.
