Ingredients
  

Cheese Mixture
  • 1 cup cottage cheese Can be blended for a creamier texture.
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs (preferably whole wheat) Can be toasted for added flavor.
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg Main binder for the mixture.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • to taste Salt and pepper
For Frying
  • Cooking spray or olive oil For frying or baking.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) with the oven rack in the center position.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine cottage cheese, mozzarella, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt and pepper. Mix until evenly incorporated.
  3. Shape mixture into sticks about 4 inches long and 1 inch wide. Wet hands slightly to prevent sticking.
Baking
  1. Place cheese sticks on a lined baking sheet. Spray with cooking spray or drizzle with olive oil.
  2. Bake for about 15 minutes, until golden brown and cheese begins to bubble. Switch to broiler for extra crispiness, if desired.

Notes

For texture, pulse cottage cheese in a blender if preferred. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days, and reheat in the oven or air fryer.
