Method
Cooking the Pasta
- Start by cooking the pasta according to the package instructions. Be sure to salt the water for added flavor.
Preparing the Broccoli
- During the last 3 minutes of the pasta cooking time, add the broccoli florets to the pot. Drain both the pasta and broccoli in a colander once they are done.
Sautéing the Garlic
- In the same pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Combining Everything
- Add the drained pasta and broccoli back into the pot. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and toss everything together until well combined.
Serving
- Plate the pasta and broccoli mix, and top with grated Parmesan cheese before serving.
Notes
For a creamier version, consider adding a splash of cream or a dollop of Greek yogurt. Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
