Preparation
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef and onion until the beef is cooked through and the onion is translucent.
- Drain excess fat.
- Stir in ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes, until heated through.
- Preheat your oven to broil.
- Place the garlic bread on a baking sheet.
- Pile the sloppy joe mixture on top of each slice of garlic bread.
- Sprinkle shredded cheese over the top of the sloppy joes.
- Broil in the oven for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Pairs beautifully with a crisp green salad or coleslaw. Keep leftovers stored separately for best texture when reheating.
