Method
Preheat and Prepare the Pan
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 4x8 inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
Mix Wet Ingredients
- In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and mashed bananas.
Add Baking Soda and Other Ingredients
- Stir in the baking soda and salt, then add sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla.
Incorporate Dry Ingredients
- Gently mix in the flour until just incorporated.
Prepare Cinnamon Sugar
- In a small bowl, mix together the cinnamon and brown sugar.
Layer and Swirl
- Pour half of the banana batter into the prepared pan, sprinkle with half the cinnamon sugar, then add the remaining batter, topping with the rest of the cinnamon sugar.
- Use a knife to swirl the mixture gently.
Bake
- Bake for 50-60 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool and Serve
- Let the loaf cool in the pan for 10 minutes before lifting it out using the parchment paper. Cool completely on a wire rack.
Notes
This cinnamon swirl banana bread is best served warm with butter or yogurt. Store wrapped tightly at room temperature.
