Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 cups brewed coffee Use freshly brewed coffee for the best flavor.
  • ½ cup sugar Adjust to taste if you prefer a less sweet dessert.
  • 2 tablespoons agar-agar powder Ensure it is fully dissolved for the right texture.
  • 1 cup water
  • Whipped cream Optional, for serving.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a saucepan, combine the brewed coffee, sugar, and water over medium heat. Stir occasionally until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Once dissolved, sprinkle the agar-agar powder into the mixture while stirring constantly until fully dissolved.
  3. Pour the mixture into a mold and let it cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  4. Refrigerate the mixture for at least 2 hours until it has a firm, jelly-like consistency.
  5. Carefully unmold the jelly onto a plate and cut into cubes or slices. Serve with whipped cream if desired.

Notes

Japanese Coffee Jelly can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. It can be frozen but may change texture upon thawing. Consider garnishing with coffee beans or chocolate shavings for an elegant touch.
