Preparation
- In a bowl, mix the thinly sliced beef with soy sauce, sesame oil, and a pinch of sugar. If you love garlic, add minced garlic for an extra layer.
- In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
Cooking
- Add the marinated beef to the skillet. Sear for about 5-7 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and bell peppers. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until they’re soft and slightly caramelized.
- Add the cooked beef back into the skillet along with the chopped kimchi. Stir well and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Drape the cheese slices over the beef and vegetable mixture, cover the pan, and cook for an additional minute or until the cheese is gooey.
Assembly
- Scoop the mixture onto toasted hoagie rolls and enjoy the heavenly combination!
Notes
Thinly slice the beef for quick cooking and tenderness. Don’t skip marinating; even 15 minutes can enhance the flavor immensely. Adjust kimchi based on your spice preference.
