  • 4 cups cabbage, shredded Makes for a light and crunchy base.
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce Use low-sodium for lower salt content.
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce Can be swapped with a low-carb sweetener and oyster sauce.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Adds a fragrant flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced For warmth and spice.
  • 2 stalks green onions, chopped Used for garnish and flavor.
  • Salt and pepper To taste.
  • Olive oil For cooking.

  1. In a large skillet, heat 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and ginger; sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet, cooking until browned for 6-8 minutes, breaking it into small pieces.
  4. Stir in the soy sauce and hoisin sauce, letting the mixture simmer for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Add the shredded cabbage, cooking until wilted for about 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve warm.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days. This recipe freezes well; portion and freeze for up to 3 months.
