Ingredients

Fresh Vegetables and Fruits
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage (green or purple) Use purple for added color.
  • 1 cup diced mango Use ripe mango for a sweet taste.
  • ½ cup shredded carrots Adds crunch and color.
  • ¼ cup chopped red bell pepper For a slight sweetness.
  • ¼ cup chopped cilantro Substitute with parsley for a different flavor.
Dressing
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice Use freshly squeezed for the best flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon honey Enhances sweetness.
  • Salt and pepper To taste.

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by shredding your cabbage and carrots, and chopping the red bell pepper and cilantro if you haven't done so yet.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, diced mango, shredded carrots, chopped red bell pepper, and chopped cilantro.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together lime juice, honey, salt, and pepper until well blended.
  4. Pour the dressing over the slaw mixture and toss everything together gently until coated.
  5. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve immediately, or let it chill in the fridge for a more refreshing taste.

Notes

Ensure your mango is ripe for the best flavor. For a touch of heat, consider adding a pinch of cayenne or red pepper flakes. Letting the slaw sit for about 10 minutes after mixing allows the flavors to meld beautifully.
