  • 1 lb meatballs (store-bought or homemade) Ground beef or chicken works beautifully for homemade meatballs.
For the Mashed Potato Layer
  • 4 cups mashed potatoes Use freshly made or prepared ones for a creamy texture.
For the Topping
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (mozzarella or cheddar) Generously sprinkle on top for a gooey finish.
Seasonings
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
Optional Garnish
  • 1 tbsp fresh herbs (parsley or chives) For garnish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Layer your cooked meatballs evenly at the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  3. Spread the creamy mashed potatoes generously over the meatballs.
  4. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top of the mashed potatoes.
Baking
  1. Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serving
  1. Let the dish cool slightly before serving.
  2. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
