Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Place the 12 Hawaiian rolls in a single layer inside a 9×13-inch baking dish, keeping them snug but not squashed. Carefully slice horizontally through the rolls, then lift the top half off like a lid.
Filling the Rolls
- In a medium bowl, combine 1 cup shredded cheddar and 1 cup shredded mozzarella. Stir until evenly mixed.
- Spoon the cheese mixture across the bottom halves of the rolls, distributing it evenly.
Butter-Herb Topping
- In a small bowl, mash together 4 tablespoons softened butter with 1 teaspoon garlic powder and 1 teaspoon dried herbs until smooth.
- Replace the top half of the rolls and brush the butter mixture generously over the whole roll loaf.
Baking
- Bake uncovered at 350°F (175°C) for 12 to 15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the tops are golden brown.
- Let the sliders rest for 3 to 5 minutes before slicing between rolls and serving.
- Serve warm and enjoy with a small bowl of marinara or honey-mustard dip.
Notes
You can assemble sliders ahead of time and refrigerate for up to 24 hours before baking. For creative variations, add roasted red peppers or caramelized onions.
