Ingredients

Ice Cream Base
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure mint extract (or peppermint extract for a stronger flavor)
  • a few drops green food coloring (optional)
Add-ins
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips

Method

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, and granulated sugar until fully dissolved.
  2. Stir in the pure mint extract and add green food coloring if desired.
Churning
  1. Pour the mixture into your ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions (about 20-30 minutes).
  2. If you don’t have an ice cream maker, pour the mixture into a freezer-safe container and freeze, stirring vigorously every 30 minutes until desired consistency is achieved.
Adding Chocolate Chips
  1. During the last few minutes of churning, add the mini chocolate chips.
Freezing
  1. Transfer the ice cream to a freezer-safe container, smoothing the top, and press plastic wrap onto the surface before sealing.
  2. Freeze completely for about 4 hours.

Notes

Keep the ice cream in an airtight container for up to 2-3 weeks. Consider portioning into smaller containers for easier access without exposing the entire batch.
