Ingredients

Dry Ingredients
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 2 sticks butter, room temperature (8 tablespoons)
  • 0.5 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 0.5 cup packed brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Chocolate Chips
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips or mix of chocolate and peanut butter chips

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare two ungreased baking sheets.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt until evenly combined.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the butter, peanut butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract, beating until everything is well incorporated.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the bowl and mix until a dough forms. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  6. Using a tablespoon, form dough balls and place them on the baking sheets, spacing them slightly apart.
Baking
  1. Bake for 8–10 minutes, one sheet at a time for even cooking. If baking two sheets, switch them halfway through.
  2. Let the cookies cool on a wire rack after baking.

Notes

For a more developed flavor, refrigerate dough for up to 48 hours prior to baking. For varied textures, consider mixing types of chocolate or adding chopped peanuts.
