  • 2 packages 14 oz each Lil’ Smokies sausages You can use any small cocktail sausage.
  • 1 cup brown sugar Use light or dark brown sugar based on preference.
  • 1 cup pineapple juice Essential for the sweet-savory glaze.
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks (fresh or canned) Fresh adds texture; canned contributes extra juice.
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional) Adjust based on heat preference.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together brown sugar, pineapple juice, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and cayenne pepper until smooth.
  2. Place both packages of Lil’ Smokies into the slow cooker.
  3. Pour the brown sugar-pineapple mixture over the sausages and turn them gently to coat.
  4. Fold in pineapple chunks.
  5. Cover and cook on Low for 4 hours or High for 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
  6. If necessary, cook on High for an additional 15–30 minutes to thicken the glaze.
  7. Transfer to a serving dish and serve warm with toothpicks.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3–4 days. Freezing is possible for up to 2 months without pineapple chunks.
