Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 500 grams Mushrooms (button, portobello, or cremini) Choose any variety you prefer.
  • 3 cloves Garlic, freshly minced Use fresh garlic for the best flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil, extra virgin Extra virgin olive oil is preferred for flavor.
  • to taste Salt Salt to taste.
  • to taste Pepper, freshly ground Use freshly ground pepper for added seasoning.
  • optional Fresh herbs (like parsley or thyme) Optional for garnish.

Method

Preparation
  1. Clean the mushrooms: Rinse your mushrooms under cold water and gently wipe them with a paper towel. If using large mushrooms, slice them into similar-sized pieces.
  2. Heat the olive oil: In a frying pan, pour a couple of tablespoons of olive oil and heat it over medium heat until shimmering.
Cooking
  1. Sauté the garlic: Add the minced garlic to the hot oil and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
  2. Add the mushrooms: Toss in the cleaned mushrooms, along with a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir well to coat the mushrooms.
  3. Cook until tender: Allow the mushrooms to cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until they are tender and golden brown.
  4. Garnish and serve: Optionally, sprinkle fresh herbs over the cooked mushrooms and serve with grilled vegetables, pasta, or a vibrant salad.

Notes

If you have leftovers, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. For long-term storage, sautéed garlic mushrooms can be frozen; texture may change slightly. Reheat in a skillet on low heat or in the microwave.
