Preparation
- Clean the mushrooms: Rinse your mushrooms under cold water and gently wipe them with a paper towel. If using large mushrooms, slice them into similar-sized pieces.
- Heat the olive oil: In a frying pan, pour a couple of tablespoons of olive oil and heat it over medium heat until shimmering.
Cooking
- Sauté the garlic: Add the minced garlic to the hot oil and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
- Add the mushrooms: Toss in the cleaned mushrooms, along with a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir well to coat the mushrooms.
- Cook until tender: Allow the mushrooms to cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until they are tender and golden brown.
- Garnish and serve: Optionally, sprinkle fresh herbs over the cooked mushrooms and serve with grilled vegetables, pasta, or a vibrant salad.
Notes
If you have leftovers, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. For long-term storage, sautéed garlic mushrooms can be frozen; texture may change slightly. Reheat in a skillet on low heat or in the microwave.
