  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced Choose ripe strawberries for best flavor.

  • ΒΌ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup sponge cake or ladyfingers Can brush with rum or strawberry syrup for added flavor.
  • to taste Mint leaves for garnish Adds a refreshing touch.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Whip until soft peaks form (about 3-5 minutes).
  2. In your serving dish, layer sponge cake or ladyfingers at the bottom.
  3. Spread half of the whipped cream over the layer of cake.
  4. Place a layer of sliced strawberries on top of the cream, adding sugar if needed.
  5. Repeat layering with the remaining ingredients until finished.
  6. Garnish with fresh mint leaves.
  7. Chill for at least 1 hour before serving to meld flavors.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh; can be refrigerated for up to 2 days. Individual components can be frozen separately, but the complete dessert may not freeze well. Serve with vanilla ice cream or chocolate shavings for variation.
