Making the dessert
- In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Be cautious not to overbeat.
- Gradually add in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, and continue to whip until stiff peaks form.
- In a large serving dish, layer the angel food cake pieces, followed by a layer of whipped cream, and then a layer of sliced strawberries.
- Continue layering until all ingredients are used, finishing with a generous layer of whipped cream on top.
- Garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.
- Place the dessert in the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. For best flavor, assemble a day in advance but wait to garnish until serving.
