Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 12 medium Fresh strawberries Choose firm, ripe strawberries with their green tops intact.
  • 6-8 ounces Dark chocolate A good-quality dark chocolate bar or chips (60–70% cacao recommended).
  • 1 small tube Icing (for decoration) Ready-made piping icing, royal icing, or simple icing from powdered sugar and milk.

Method

Preparation
  1. Wash and dry the strawberries thoroughly to ensure they are completely moisture-free.
  2. Melt the dark chocolate either in the microwave or using a double boiler, ensuring to keep water out of the chocolate.
Dipping
  1. Dip each strawberry into the melted chocolate, twisting slightly to coat evenly, then place them on parchment paper to cool and harden.
Decoration
  1. Once the chocolate is set, use icing to add details like eyes and spots to create the ladybug look.
Final Steps
  1. Allow the icing to set fully before serving, either at room temperature or briefly chilling in the refrigerator.

Notes

Store decorated strawberries in a single layer in an airtight container for up to 24-48 hours. Avoid using frozen strawberries, as they don't adhere well to chocolate.
