Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt (or your preferred yogurt)
  • ½ cup protein powder (vanilla or unflavored)
  • 1 cup almond milk (or any milk of your choice)
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (optional, adjust to taste)
  • 1 pinch of salt

Method

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped strawberries with a pinch of salt. Allow them to sit for about 10 minutes to release their natural juices.
  2. If you enjoy a more intense strawberry flavor, consider briefly roasting the strawberries in the oven at a low temperature to caramelize their sugars.
Blending
  1. In a blender, combine the macerated strawberries, Greek yogurt, protein powder, almond milk, and sweetener (if using). Blend until smooth.
  2. Taste the mixture, and feel free to adjust the sweetness to your liking.
Chilling
  1. Pour the blended mixture into a freezer-safe container and place it in the freezer for at least 1-2 hours, or until it's chilled but not frozen solid.
Churning
  1. If using a Ninja Creami or ice cream maker, churn the mixture according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  2. For the Ninja Creami, this might entail placing the container into the machine and selecting the 'Ice Cream' setting.
Final Freezing
  1. Once churned, transfer the ice cream to a freezer-safe container and freeze for an additional 1-2 hours to set.
Serving
  1. Scoop into bowls and enjoy as is, or top with fresh fruit, granola, or a drizzle of honey for added texture and flavor.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the freezer. For best quality, consume within a month. Allow ice cream to sit at room temperature for 5-10 minutes before scooping if it's too hard.
