Ingredients
  

Pastry Base
  • 1 sheet puff pastry This forms the base of our twists.
Sweet Mixture
  • ¼ cup sugar Adds sweetness to each twist.
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon For that warm, comforting flavor.
For the Wash
  • 1 each egg For egg wash to give the twists a beautiful golden finish.
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter For brushing to keep the twists moist and delicious.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface.
  3. Cut the puff pastry into strips, about 1 inch wide.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon together.
  5. Brush the melted butter on each strip of pastry.
  6. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture generously on top.
  7. Twist each strip several times and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Brush the tops with egg wash for a lovely golden color.
Baking
  1. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden and puffed up.
  2. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Make sure your puff pastry is cold when starting; this helps achieve flakiness. Don’t skip the egg wash; it truly makes a difference in the final look and taste. Watch them closely while baking, as they can go from perfect to overdone quickly.
