  • 1 cup cooked ground beef or turkey Use lean meat
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend) Grate fresh for better melting
  • ½ cup ranch dressing Store-bought or homemade
  • 1 package taco seasoning Choose spicy if preferred
  • 1 bag tortilla chips Use sturdy chips to hold the toppings
  • to taste chopped green onions For garnish
  • to serve sour cream Optional serving suggestion

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix the cooked ground beef with taco seasoning and ranch dressing until well combined.
  2. If using uncooked meat, brown in a skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it up until no pink remains. Drain excess fat, add taco seasoning with a splash of water, and simmer briefly before mixing in ranch dressing.
Assembly
  1. On a serving platter, place tortilla chips in a single layer.
  2. Spoon the taco mixture over the tortilla chips evenly.
  3. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
  4. Optionally, garnish with chopped green onions.
Serving
  1. Serve immediately with sour cream on the side.

Notes

Store leftovers separately to maintain crunch. Meat mixture can be reheated and assembled with fresh chips.
