Ingredients

Pasta and Mix-Ins
  • 8 oz pasta (your choice; rotini or penne work great!)
  • 1 cup peas (fresh or frozen will do)
  • 4 slices halal-friendly bacon Cook until crispy
Dressing
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste Adjust to personal preference
Garnish (Optional)
  • chopped green onion or parsley For garnish

Method

Cooking Pasta
  1. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Add a pinch of salt to the boiling water for flavor. Once tender, drain the pasta in a strainer and run cool water over it to stop the cooking process. Let it cool while you prepare the other ingredients.
Cooking Bacon
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the halal-friendly bacon until crispy, about 6-8 minutes. Once fully cooked, remove it from the skillet, let it cool for a moment, and then crumble it into bite-sized pieces.
Combining Ingredients
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooled pasta, peas, crumbled bacon, mayonnaise, sour cream, and lemon juice. Mix everything gently until well combined.
Seasoning
  1. Add salt and pepper to taste. Adjust according to your preference. For added flavor, consider a pinch of garlic powder or pepper flakes!
Chilling
  1. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill the pasta salad in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
Garnishing
  1. Once chilled, give the salad a good stir, and garnish with chopped green onions or parsley.
Serving
  1. Your Ultimate Creamy Pasta Salad is ready to be served! Enjoy as a hearty side or a light main course.

Notes

For added texture, consider roasting your peas instead of boiling them. You can also experiment with different types of pasta, and reduce mayonnaise/sour cream for a healthier version.
